I met my partner Margaux in Paris at a lesbian party called 'Wet for Me' held in La Machine du Moulin Rouge. That first meeting was like being hit with a lightning bolt or coup de foudre as they say in French. I was only in Paris for three months doing an artist residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts but despite that we still managed to be together, live through long distance, visas and the pandemic. This year we're getting married, something I never really thought was possible growing up as a queer, non-binary Chinese-Australian person.
