It's said that a goldfish has a ten second memory span. I sometimes wonder if I do too. The fish in this image represent information passing in one ear and going out the other. This self-portrait represents my struggle to focus, remember and pay attention. I am a daydreamer, with a vivid imagination. I never get bored. My mind is always busy, but unfortunately it's not always busy in the 'right' way, or with the 'right' things. School and life can be stressful. But it's also colourful this way, and I'm grateful for my creativity and imagination.
Little Darlings is for primary and secondary students, with four separate categories across Kindergarten to Year 12. Responding to the theme ‘Me and my place’, students painted, drew, photographed, printed or combined all of these to make their portrait.
