Darling Portrait Prize 2022 Finalist
Hymie was born in Australia to immigrants who came to the land of opportunity. Hymie means life, and so he does (live it) with a passion. For his business. For violin. For tennis. For art. His family started a textile business, in which he still works today, aged 92. Even acquiring a work permit during the COVID lockdown. He is determined! He never gives up! He goes to community events, coffee dates and messages grandchildren daily. Proudly Australian, recognising Australia as a wonderful country for refugees and migrants, he taught us to contribute in return.
Hymie, my epitome of life.
