2017 is the 50th anniversary of the 1967 referendum and the 25th anniversary of the Mabo judgement. To acknowledge these important dates, and coinciding with National Reconciliation week (May 27 – June 3), this re-hang of the Collection Display Galleries highlights portraits of iconic and influential Indigenous Australians, foregrounding over 200 years of resistance, culture and creativity.
