Soundwaves in space
Soundwaves in space is a performance by Senior Curator, Chris Chapman designed to create an ambient experience of sound in the entry hall of the National Portrait Gallery. Chris will be looping ambient tracks and environmental recordings by selected artists relayed via laptop and iPod to suggest soft atmospheric drift, overlaid by gentle percussion and synthesiser elements. The performance will softly colour the space, invite attentive and relaxing listening, and is designed to evoke memories and feelings.
Duration around 90 minutes – come and go as you please.
